Freedom Calls Health

Where healing begins.
And goals take shape.

Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Jarrod Kanandy. I’m a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with a master’s degree from UNC-Chapel Hill. For the past 15 years, I’ve worked as a Family Nurse Practitioner (UNC-CH, 2010), focusing on Addiction Medicine and Family Medicine.

Helping people feel better and live fuller lives is truly what drives me. I believe in meeting you where you are and working together to help you reach your goals—whether that’s in your personal life, your relationships, or your overall well-being. Through therapy and thoughtful medication management, I’m here to support you every step of the way.

I’m also a U.S. Army Veteran, a husband, and a proud father. I understand how important balance, connection, and support are in life—and I’m here to help you find yours.

A bit about my approach to therapy

I take a compassionate, practical approach to care—combining Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) with medication management when needed. I have a special interest in working with individuals facing trauma, depression, anxiety, and addiction. My goal is to create a safe, supportive space where we can work together to help you feel more like yourself again.

What you can expect from our first session

In our first session, whether remote or at your home, you can expect a welcoming, judgment-free space where we’ll talk about what brought you in and what you’re hoping to achieve. You’ll leave with a clear goal in mind and a personalized plan for how we’ll work together to help you get there.
